時間を守る。「一度も遅刻しない人、一度も休まない人」
仕事にはいくつかの大切な守らなければならないことがあります。それは時間を守るということです。そう知っている私も何度も遅刻をしたことがあります。そこで、一度も遅刻しない人に話を聞いてみることにしました。
「あなたは、なぜ何年もの間、一度も遅刻しないのですか？」の質問に、不思議そうな顔をしていました。「遅刻をしないことは、自分ではあたりまえのことだと思っている」との答えが帰ってきました。そこで、「どうしたら、遅刻しないのですか？」とさらに聞きました。「早く起きることです。」という単純なことでした。
また、一度も休まない人に同じように質問をしました。答えは何だと思いますか？「この仕事が楽しいからです。」が正解です。私は、体調管理に気を付けるや労働時間を無理のないように調整するなどの答えを期待していたので意外でした。
自分との約束があり、仕事に対しての責任があります。何事も向き合う姿勢が大切です。真摯にあらゆることに向き合うことで当たり前のことが続けられて、当たり前でない成果として自分自身に帰ってきます。そのためには、働くことが楽しくなる職場作りが必要なのだと考え直した良い機会でした。
